The registration fee includes the Conference folder,
the Conference Abstracts booklet, lunches, as well as tea and refreshments in
the mornings and afternoons on 7-9 July.
LATE REGISTRATION
At Conference Venue from 08:00 onwards: R600
The exchange rate between the South African Rand and
the Namibian $ is 1:1 and both currencies are accepted in Namibia. Thus all
fees indicated in Rand
can also be interpreted as Namibian $
and vice-versa.

Notice is hereby given of the following proposed amendment of the
Constitution to be tabled at the General Meeting.
It will be proposed that all
references to “Chairperson” and “Vice-Chairperson” in the Constitution be
replaced by “President” and “Vice-President” respectively.
Motivation: To bring the description of these office bearers at
AFRILEX in line with the description in its sister organisations such as
EURALEX, DSNA and AUSTRALEX.
Members are invited to nominate members
in good standing with the association, to serve on the Board of AFRILEX for the
period July 2003 tot July 2005. Please complete the attached nomination form
and return it to Prof. D.J. Prinsloo, Department of African Languages,
University of Pretoria, Pretoria 0002, South Africa, to reach us not later than
20 May 2003. Up to 8 candidates can be nominated. Nominations can also be
e-mailed to prinsloo@postino.up.ac.za
not later than 20 May 2003. A ballot paper containing the names of nominees who
were nominated by at least two members will then be mailed to all members.

PowerPoint presentation facilities will be available. As a backup, presenters
will be asked to e-mail their slide show ahead of the Conference to Mr. H.L. Beyer (e-mail: hbeyer@unam.na).
