You are cordially invited to attend a Two-Day Tutorial on PRINCIPLES,
PROCEDURES AND PRACTICE OF TERMINOLOGY AND TERMINOGRAPHY, presented by Dr.
Mariėtta Alberts from the Department of Arts, Culture, Science and
Technology on Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 November 1999 at the University of
Pretoria.

material, luncheons on 29 and 30 November, and tea and refreshments in the
morning and afternoon on both days.

Upon

of Pretoria. At an extra charge, this agency also arranges transport to and
from the airport, from your guesthouse to the Tutorial Venue and back, as well

TRANSPORT
A shuttle bus service, the Pretoria Airport Shuttle, is in
operation between Johannesburg International Airport and Pretoria. This shuttle
departs from Terminal 3 (next to Impala Tours) every hour on the hour
(R46 one way). On arrival at the terminal in Pretoria (corner of Vermeulen and
Prinsloo streets) take a taxi / bus to the main gate of the University of Pretoria
(corner of Lynnwood and Roper streets), or to your place of accommodation. City
Taxis: 321-5742/3.

PARKING ON CAMPUS
Use
the main gate, turn from Lynnwood road into Roper Street, and present
this letter. Turn right and follow the signs to the parking area and Tutorial
Venue.

From the North
N1, the Pietersburg highway, will take you to the N4, the Witbank
Highway, and then straight into Pretorius Street. Turn left into Gordon Road,
same as following, the M7, Brooklyn turn-off, (Gordon changes into Duncan Road)
for 1.8 km. (You'll cross several traffic lights.) You are now at the Lynnwood
Road traffic light. Turn right and continue 0.8 km. You are now at the traffic
light at the main entrance. Turn right.
From Johannesburg
N1, take the R101 Pretoria East off-ramp (you'll see UNISA at this
stage on the hill to your right). Follow the Brooklyn M7 (right and then left)
to reach Fountains Circle. Stay in the lane second from right to take the
Groenkloof off-ramp at the circle. In George Storrar Drive, drive 2.6 km and
turn left into Queen Wilhelmina Drive. Continue 1.1 km, turn right into
Nicolson Street, continue 0.6 km turn left into Roper and you'll reach the main
entrance (1.1 km, at the end of Roper) in Lynnwood Road.
From the Johannesburg International Airport
The Pretoria off-ramp at the airport will take you to Fountains Circle.
Take the Groenkloof or Brooklyn off-ramp (about 270 degrees around the circle).
In George Storrar Drive, drive 2.6 km and turn left into Queen Wilhelmina
Drive. Continue 1.1 km, turn right into Nicolson Street, continue 0.6 km turn
left into Roper and you'll reach the main entrance (1.1 km, at the end of
Roper) in Lynnwood Road.
From the West
From Schoeman Street, turn right into Hill Street, continue 0.8 km
(there is a bend to the left after 0.3 km into Burnett Street, you'll cross
several traffic lights). Turn right into Roper Street, entrance to the right
after 0.1 km, the service entrance, at the corner of Roper and Prospect
Streets.
From the East
The
N4, the Witbank Highway becomes Pretorius Street, a one-way westbound. Turn
left into Gordon Road, same as following, the M7, Brooklyn turn-off, (Gordon
changes into Duncan Road) for 1.8 km. (You'll cross several traffic lights.)
You are now at the Lynnwood Road traffic light. Turn right and continue 0.8 km.
You are now at the traffic light at the main entrance. Turn right.
